Adele’s Diet: What is the Sirtfood (Sirtuin) Diet?

The Sirtfood diet model first came into our lives in 2016 with a book called “Sirtfood Diet” by Aidan Goggins and nutritionist Glen Matten.

What is the Sirtfood (Sirtuin) diet?

The main goal of the Sirtfood diet is to consume foods that, along with calorie restriction, activate a protein called sirtuin. Sirtuin is a type of protein that protects cells in the body from death or inflamation. The foods in the Sirtfood diet are frequently consumed in the Blue Zone regions of the world where the life span is the longest.

Some research suggests that foods that enhance sirtuin activation may speed up metabolism, reduce inflammation and prolong life. On the other hand, although the preferred foods are healthy, the SirtFood diet is a calorie-restricted diet. This situation creates other drawbacks. Therefore, more comprehensive scientific studies are needed to talk about the effects of this diet.

How is the Sirtfood (Sirtuin) diet made?


Those sirtuin diet foods, also known as “sirtfood“, are as follows:

  • Cabbage (Especially black cabbage is recommended)
  • Red onion
  • Parsley
  • Olive oil
  • Buckwheat
  • Green tea
  • Walnut
  • Coffee
  • Strawberry
  • Dark chocolate
  • Turmeric
  • Blueberries
  • Arugula

Sirtüin diet is applied for a total of 2-3 weeks and it is recommended to take a break when it is desired to be repeated.

Especially in this diet program, which is said to be very heavy in the first 3 days, the amount of calories you will take in the first days is quite limited.

The Sirtfood diet application consists of two stages.
  • 1st stage (7 days); In the first 3 days, a meal containing back nutrients and 3 portions of green drink should be consumed with a 1,000 calorie restriction.

On the remaining days of the week, 2 meals and 2 green drinks should be consumed with a 1,500 calorie restriction.

  • 2nd stage (14 days); This stage is known as maintaining and maintaining the diet. 3 main meals prepared with sirtfood recipes and 1 green drink should be consumed daily.

Note : Do not neglect to drink plenty of water.

Things to consider about the Sirtfood diet;
  • First of all, if you have a chronic disease, if you have a regular medication or a special diet that you need to follow, you should not make any diet without consulting your doctor, including the diet of the circus.
  • Likewise, anyone who is considering to follow the diet of circus, especially those whose body has frequent allergic reactions, should do so under the control of a doctor or dietician / nutritionist,
  • If you consume excessive amounts of the diet foods mentioned above, you should remember that it may be harmful to your body.
  • Since it is a diet that loses a lot of weight in a short time, you should definitely take a break and never risk your health.
  • In case of excess, the diet of the vinegar can cause various side effects on your body.

Among these side effects are increased blood pressure, high blood pressure problem, imbalances in blood sugar, metabolic disorders, tooth decay and of course, weakening of the immune system that may develop due to these.
